Pet & Dog Policy

• Dogs are not allowed on Hartenbos Beach during the Blue Flag season (1 December – 31 January).

• Outside of this period, dogs are permitted in demarcated areas between the Hartenbos and Klein Brak River mouths.

• Dogs must always be kept on a leash, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.

• Water-based: Swimming, surfing, fishing.

• Beach-based: Walking, sunbathing, picnicking, beach games.

• Other: Whale watching (seasonal), bird watching.

Tips & Visitor Advice

• The beach can be very busy during the holiday season (Dec 1 – Jan 31), so it’s advisable to arrive early to secure parking and enjoy the beach before peak crowds.

• Ample food and drink options are available nearby, including cafés, restaurants, and beach stalls for refreshments.
