Just a short drive from George, the Garden Route Dam offers peaceful natural beauty with stunning views of the Outeniqua Mountains. Easily accessible by car via a short gravel road, the dam has shaded parking near the wall.

The George Dam Trail, about 8 km long, is perfect for a walk, run, or cycle, with scenic views of the dam and surrounding landscapes. Calm waters make it ideal for paddling, and the area is dog-friendly. For more information about the trails, visit the Trail section on our site.

Note that the main entrance is monitored by security, and all visitors must sign in upon arrival but access is free.
